OUR KEY PROJECTS

CONSERVATION PROJECTS

At Conservation Through Tourism, we believe that preserving wild spaces and the species that inhabit them requires innovative approaches that connect people to the value of these landscapes. Tourism offers a vital revenue stream to support conservation efforts, ensuring that remote, vulnerable areas are protected rather than succumbing to pressures like agriculture, mining, or urban development. Each of our projects is designed to highlight and protect these critical spaces, educate the public, and drive sustainable tourism to regions where it matters most.

OUR KEY PROJECTS

Focused on reducing conflict between humans and elephants in remote areas, this initiative blends community engagement, innovative technology like thermal drones, and practical solutions such as water access projects to create sustainable cohabitation.

A unique expedition connecting the majestic heights of Kilimanjaro to the serene Tanzanian coastline, showcasing conservation challenges and solutions across diverse ecosystems while inspiring travel, education, meaningful action, and global awareness.

An engaging episodic video series filmed in the Serengeti, bringing conservation challenges and triumphs to life. This real-time storytelling initiative educates viewers on pressing conservation issues, promotes responsible travel, and inspires action for wildlife preservation.

A bold adventure connecting iconic peaks across Africa to raise awareness and funds for conservation, demonstrating how ecotourism can protect vulnerable landscapes and species while promoting sustainable development and community resilience.

CONSERVATION THROUGH TOURISM PROJECT MANAGEMENT & FUNDING

Our projects are born out of necessity, designed to address pressing conservation challenges and opportunities as they arise. Each initiative is carefully planned and executed, with funding sourced through sponsors, partnerships, and the invaluable support of visitors like you. From concept to completion, our goal is to create impactful expeditions that drive meaningful change and inspire global awareness.

Tourism has shown its power to protect nature, especially during challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, which underscored the importance of visitor presence and their crucial contributions. Together, we can ensure these wild spaces remain refuges for future generations.

We encourage and welcome support from all stakeholders in the tourism industry, including tour operators, international travel agents, DMCs, Kilimanjaro trekking companies, safari outfitters, accommodation establishments, transport providers, and online travel agents promoting Tanzania and East Africa.

Beyond direct tourism providers, we are deeply grateful to the many affiliated businesses that contribute to the industry’s success. These include suppliers of food and beverage products, vehicles, tyres, fuel, canvas, camp and hotel equipment, as well as providers of essential services like finance, insurance, banking, marketing, design, and public relations.

Your support—whether through donations, collaboration, or in-kind contributions—directly impacts our ability to protect vulnerable spaces, implement conservation solutions, and empower communities. Together, we can ensure tourism remains a force for good, preserving Tanzania’s unique landscapes and wildlife for generations to come.
